“When we started in 2011, there was dramatically less craft beer,” said Damian Fagan, Founder of Almanac Beer Co. in Alameda, CA. “Now there are 7,000 craft breweries in the United States.
Back then, cans were associated with lower quality. The great irony is that cans are better for beer in every way. They are literally a miniature keg.”
While overall beer sales in the United States were down 1 percent in 2017, sales of 16-oz. craft beer cans went up 40.9 percent.
